Tom was my best friend at Churchville Elementary and York. We built a G-gas car along with Don Breh, Larry Keifer, Wally Merkel and Bob Johnson to run at Oswego drag strip. He also raced his 55 and 63 Chevys. Tom died of a broken heart after losing his wife Natalie. I miss you Tom. Thomas Roy Merkel age 67, US Army Vietnam Veteran, formerly of Bloomingdale for 40 years, passed away suddenly August 8, 2011. Beloved husband of the late Natalie, dear father of Suzanne (Greg) Merkel-Baugher and the late Scott Merkel; loving grandpa of Kaitlyn and Anya Baugher, and the dear brother of the late Judy Butera.
