2018 Celebration Weekend

YORK CELEBRATES 100 YEARS OF EDUCATION EXCELLENCE - 1918 & BEYOND

Escorted by hosts YCHSAA (Alumni Assoc.), our York was in a party mood and lookin' fine for its 100th Anniversary Celebration Sept. 27-30th.    See pictures and details in the attached Gallery.  York's birthday spans several years, beginning with the 1918 land purchase, construction,  and the first graduating class of 1922.  YCHSAA  continues its goal of strenthening connections between York alumni, students,  and community.  It is establishing a much-needed archival program to save and preserve York's history,  planning an alumni/student mentoring system, & eventually , a scholarship program.  Be informed about future events and see how you can be involved,  through postings on our Class of '62 and the Elmhurst Dist. 205 websites.

YORK PARTIES ALL WEEKEND FOR ITS 100TH BIRTHDAY

Starting Thursday, Sept. 27, people traveled near and far for the Centennial Celebration/ 2018 York Homecoming.  Here are a few pictures from the Friday night 60s Decade Gathering hosted by Trish KELLER Harper and Fran WEISS Fach, attended by 18 alumns from 1957, 1961, '62, '63, 65, and '72.  Sadly, the Dukes did not prevail over Willowbrook, but 100s of alumni proudly walked the field by Decade during half-time.  Saturday York opened doors to the student body, District families, and alumni for tours, music by the Pep Band and talented teachers, an archival Journey Through the Decades (see pictures) in the Boys Gym, and outdoor food court for all the birthday party attendees.  Class of 1968 invited guests to their 50th reunion golf event and Sunday Brunch with a Duke.  NOTE:  If you have pictures to add, please email to paharper6266@att.net. (Trish KELLER)
