In Memory

Ronald A. Cram

Ronald A. Cram (Ron) died December 1, 2021 from complications of Alzheimers.  Our sympathies go out to his wife Jackie (Skinner) Cram, his children, grandchildren, and large, loving extended family.  Although Ron was born in Iowa, he spent all his public school years at Yorkfield Elementary, Elmhurst Junior High and York CHS.  His wife Jackie is sister to Nancy Skinner Hill, who both graduated from York.

Our group of Yorkfield Elementary School classmates remain in touch through the York reunions.  I passed Ron's home daily on the way to Yorkfield School; he is part of my set of childhood memories.  I'm saddened that his enjoyment of his family, including three children, several grandchildren, and an expected great-grandchild this Spring, 2022, was lessened by Alzheimers.  Farewell, childhood classmate.

Ron and I became friends at Yorkfield School. I can still picture his house on Lexington Street. I rode my bike to school and passed his house every day. As I recall, Ron was on the Junior High track team in the broad jump, but that is a stretch for my memory. We kept in touch at the reunions since we always lived so far apart. Ron was a good man and I am blessed to have known him and his wife, Jackie and his sister-in-law, Nancy Hill and brother-in-law, Don Hill. They are all good people who I am thankful were a part of my life in Elmhurst. I really feel blessed to have grown up in Elmhurst. I think we all got an excellent education there and the people living there were good people.

I am so sorry to hear of this loss.  He was a wonderful guy ~ and Alzheimers is a dreadful disease.  Sending love and heartfelt wishes to his family.

Ron and I were friends before he met his future wife and my future sister-in-law, Jackie Cram at York. Ron was a wonderful caring man with a quiet, funny sense of humor. We always had a great relationship through the decades of being brothers-in-law following our graduation from York. You are missed by all the family and your many friends.
