Jim DeShong died in July 2019. As some will recall we were both tuba players at York and we kept in loose contact. Jim went to University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign after York where he studied Applied Tuba and Philosophy of education. In 1969 he went to grad school at Middle Tennessee State University studying to get a Master's in Psychology. Jim was known as an advocate for the under served wherever they were found. He is sorely missed by his family and friends.
