In years of travels, I rate my two safaris in East Africa at the very top. This July I shared the experience with six grandchildren, a grandson's girlfriend, and my youngest daughter to see if they'd feel the same. Their responses exceeded my hopes. Pictures can't convey the thrills of safari. Missing are the immense space and how everything fits together in a seamless whole. You need the sounds, smells, tension between animals, the goofy actions of juveniles, the surprise of finding creatures in the wild you have only seen live in zoos. I hope you enjoy this small gallery of three reserves in Kenya. Of course, the added bonus of any inter-generational trip --whether near or far, elaborate or simple--is the wealth of memories you make during time together.
